As the power winches began to raise the top of the vessel, the tailing rig slowly moved the bottom forward, timed so that when the vessel reached the foundation, the tower was fully erected. The February 1978 account of the transport and erection of the olefins tower in the Olefins Plant near Exxon. This is the biggest fractionating tower ever built. The pictures are in order that the tower was raised.
