The Center of Town, 1950s; Looking east down Texas Avenue in the early 1950s, one can see the newest commercial buildings in Baytown, all near the traffic circle where Texas, Decker and Market Street intersected. Across Market from each other were two supermarkets, Henke-Pillot, at the bottom of the photo, and Weingarten’s. The new Sears was just up from the circle.
