DeZavala Elementary School, circa 1928; DeZavala Elementary School was built in 1927. It was originally named the Mexican School during the days of segregation. The photo shows the original wing in 1928 which contained three classrooms with these teachers: Bertie Walker, Celeste Dashiell, and Jessie Pumphrey.
