This group of Robert E. Lee high school art class students entered some of their art work in a competitive exhibit sponsored by Sears Roebuck and Company in Houston recently. Several of the students received awards, a reproduction of which is shown in the center. Back row, standing are: Mrs. Lawrence W. Maher, instructor; James Ingram, Milton Holloway, Harold Lee Baker, Max Ford, Thomas Westmoreland, Gordon Albright and Bill Tennyson. Front row, standing: Carroll Kennedy, W.A. Higman, Ernest Davenport, Irene Robertson, Ramona Holcombe, Doris Rae Koger, Marilyn Reilly, Mabel Catherine Jones, Johnny Carris. In left foreground, standing are: Gwendolyn Evans and Joyce Buchanan. Seated are: Patsy Staner, Mavis Russell, Joynell Frazier, Marcella King, Bobbye Jean Cherry, Marjorie Moore, Doris Heard, Elouise Shaffer, Margaret and Doris Thompson. Standing, right foreground: Mary Jo Holcomb and Marlene Henderson. The group also visited the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.
