Early school building in the Goose Creek Oil Field near Tabbs Bay; First school house in Pelly in 1916 was a one-room building. In February of 1916-17 session, a wild gas well near-by cratered, and the school was closed until it could be relocated the following September. Needless to say the children enjoyed their extra-long vacation.
