Humble employees examine new pocket-size slings to replace steel cable in rigging, 1966; "Rigging employees C.W. Roebuck and B.C. Wesley from left get a close look at some lightweight nylon slings after a demonstration by Roy Norton right president of the company that manufactures them. During four classes held recently for members of the Rigging Department Norton showed how these new type of slings could replace those made of steel cable in certain lifting operations. In addition to being light and easy to handle the demonstrations showed the nylon slings to have almost unbelievable strength. For instance the one-inch sling held by Roebuck is good for a two-ton lift. And that's a lot of lifting power in a piece of material so compact it can be hauled around in a hip pocket."
