By the end of 1919, more than half of the workers at the Baytown Refinery were Mexican. Minorities were housed in separate camps. The photo shows the Housing section in 1927. The hall in the lower right corner is the Humble Oil & Refining Company Community building for minorities. Prior to 1927, a school for Hispanics was held in this building.
