The application for a historical marker honoring this group was submitted to the Harris County Historical Commission in September, 2016. The group fought for Texas independence and was made up of men "east of the San Jacinto River from Lynchburg to Cedar Bayou". The application is provided courtesy of Trevia Wooster Beverly and the Baytown Historical Preservation Association.
