In 1927 the Crosby Telephone Company owned by A.W. Truxaw sold its interest to Texas Associated Telephone Company and W.W. Hunt, standing at the rear, was sent to manage operations. Mr. Hunt was to manage the telephone company for the next 26 years until his retirement in 1953. In 1927 the company had a three-position magneto switchboard and 427 telephones in the Goose Creek Exchange.
