In the upper left you can see the old Cedar Bayou Methodist Church. The building in front of the church is a small store which as a sign proclaiming the business to be an “Ice Cream and Cold Drink Parlor.” This building housed the first post office in the area. The mail was brought in by horseback from Lynchburg twice a week. May 30, 1914.
